Tour Itinerary

On Day 1 of the Merzouga 4×4 Excursion, you will depart from our location in Merzouga and embark on a thrilling drive through the desert dunes and black volcanic rocks, exploring quaint villages along the way. Your first stop will be at the seasonal lake of Merzouga, where you can take in the stunning views. Next, you will visit Khamlia Village, where you have the option to enjoy some Gnawa music and share mint tea with the locals. Please note that a tip or purchase of a CD is encouraged for the musicians. Continuing your adventure, you will explore the lead mines in Mefes, a small, almost abandoned town known for its mineral resources, particularly iron, zinc, and lead, which have been mined since French colonization. The excursion will also take you to meet nomadic families living in Berber-style tents on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Lastly, you will discover the gardens in Hassi Labied Village before returning to Merzouga, a charming town at the Sahara’s edge, offering a vibrant atmosphere with various activities, internet cafes, and dining options.
