Tour Itinerary

Departure from Fes: We will set off from the vibrant city of Fes and embark on an unforgettable journey to Merzouga, crossing the breathtaking Middle Atlas mountain range. This range stretches 350 kilometers and showcases stunning cedar forests. Stop in Ifrane: Our first stop will be in Ifrane, often referred to as “Moroccan Switzerland.” Admire its charming architecture and learn why this area is a top ski destination in Morocco. Visit Azrou: Continue to Azrou, one of the country’s most renowned Berber cities, where you can experience the rich culture and hospitality of the local community. Ziz Valley and Gorges: As we drive through the scenic Ziz Valley and the dramatic Ziz Gorges, you’ll have the chance to capture stunning photographs of this unique landscape. Midelt and Erfoud: We will pass through the towns of Midelt and Erfoud, known for their proximity to the desert. From Erfoud, we’ll take a desert road leading us to our final destination, Merzouga. Camel Trekking to Camp: As dusk approaches, you will mount your camel for an enchanting trek across the sands to our desert camp. Enjoy a delicious traditional dinner and spend the night surrounded by the mesmerizing dunes.

Sunrise Over the Dunes: Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Merzouga dunes, a truly magical sight that will stay with you forever. Breakfast and Freshen Up: After soaking in the morning beauty, you’ll ride back to the hotel for a refreshing shower and a hearty breakfast to fuel your day. Journey to Ouarzazate: Our journey resumes as we travel through the lush Palmeral of Tafilalet and pass through Rissani, the birthplace of the Moroccan royal family, before heading to the town of Alnif. Explore the Anti-Atlas Mountains: Cross the stunning Anti-Atlas mountains, visiting the traditional Berber villages of Tazarine and N’kob. Marvel at the expansive Draa Valley, renowned for its vast palm groves. Lunch in Ouarzazate: After traversing the mountains via the Tizi N’Tnifift pass, we’ll reach Ouarzazate for a delicious lunch, giving you a chance to relax and recharge. Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah: Depending on the season, we will either take a leisurely visit to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, or a quick stop to admire its stunning architecture. Return to Marrakech: Finally, we will embark on our return to Marrakech, arriving around 19:00. You will be dropped off at your accommodation, where your extraordinary 2-Day Desert Tour concludes, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Moroccan adventure.

It is roughly 1 hour for sunset and another hour for sunrise the following day. Time depends on season, Day light saving time, and sunset/sunrise time.

You can. a 4×4 will be offered to transfer you from Merzouga lodge to Erg Chebbi desert camp for an extra fee of 30 Euros ( Included in luxury tent option )

There will be a few sand boards available at the camp operator’s lodge to use at leisure ( Availability not guaranteed ). You can ask for one to take to the camp with you. They are free of charge
